Before Woodwork Recordings began, Sunkissed had one previous release on Definitive Recordings, John Acquaviva's house imprint. In those days, Definitive's slogan "house for all", described the sound of the label, encompassing house, techno, acid house, disco, and more. John Acquaviva was known for his ability to hop through dozens of genres in a DJ set, somehow managing to tie everything together in a meaningful way.

Acquaviva took a chance on Sunkissed in 1997 and released an atypical 12" on Definitive that featured a slow ambient atmospheric house cut "Sundogs" on the back side of the featured track "Round Trip" which was a slow building techno track that had a house feel. Both tracks left Definitive fans scratching their heads, unsure how this odd release was related to the other music on the label. Eventually Sundogs emerged as the more popular track, being re-released on some compilation mixes shortly after the EP was released. In 2001, Round Trip was re-released on Future Groove, UK with an edit by Tungsten, and remixes by Thomas Heckman, Steve Porter, and Barada (another Definitive veteran).

A BONUS track is now included on this release. The track 'Lavender' was recorded as a side project of Sunkissed, called Sleepdust. This track appeared on a compilation CD for Impact Magazine, called Impact Music Sequence. This track was a regular inclusion in the very earliest Sunkissed live sets.
